In less than a month, Brandy and I will own a house! It's a nice little ranch in Lexington, very close to work for both of us. Here are some pictures we took when we had the place inspected: Brandy's Picasa Album
The place needs quite a bit of work (first order of business is tearing out the awful pink-tile-bathroom and making a proper Master-suite), but we can't wait to get started. We've already taken scouting trips to Ikea, Jordan's, and Harbor Freight Tools.
Good thing work isn't a crunch-fest anymore, as I expect to be very busy through the end of the year :)

Holy God is that bathroom pink!! Wow.
CONGRATS!!! I really like it - I love all the built-ins and fireplaces! And is that a screened porch? Awesome!
One question - in pic 56, has Brandy shrunk to 1/3 of her height and is standing on top of the bushes? ;)
HUZZAH!!!!!!!! SO exciting! I love houses, and people buying them.
Heh, that is an interesting perspective, you're right! The place does have a nice little screened porch. The floor in there is a mess, though. We'll need to rip it up and redo it or something.
We also want to convert from oil to propane sometime next year and redo the kitchen (no natural gas line on the street, or that's what we'd do).
I love that pink bathroom, it's so classic! This house looks like it's been untouched since the 60s, what a great find!
Yeah, the place was built in 1955 and had a single owner until Brandy and I. The guy was 94 years old and drove his car through the garage door. That's when his daughter moved him to a home and sold the house. Getting the garage door fixed is also high on our list of TODOs :)
NICE!
That place has great character, and you guys are gonna have a lot of fun making it your own.
Yeah, that bathroom definitely needs reworked, stat. It's not pink so much as "flesh tone". Gah!
But the all important question...is the wiring in the house sufficient for all the electronics that you guys have? ;)
The place only has a 100amp circuit right now, but we're planning on upgrading to at least 200, maybe even 400 :)
We definitely considered that ;)
